“I’ve built my reputation by telling clients what they need to know, not what they want to hear.”

Scott R. King is the founder of SK Law Group. He has over 25 years of general litigation experience, with a strong focus on commercial litigation. A large part of Mr. King’s practice focuses on representing automobile finance companies and automobile dealers in the State of Georgia, both in litigation matters and in regulatory compliance. Mr. King’s clients have included the Georgia Independent Automobile Dealer’s Association, Copart Auto Auctions, Auto Finance and Nicholas Financial, Inc., as well as hundreds of other companies, ranging from sole proprietorships to entities with hundreds of employees. Mr. King also has significant experience in estate litigation and family law.

Mr. King has also represented clients in numerous high-profile criminal cases, including the defense of Tonya Craft, a kindergarten teacher whose case drew intense national media attention, after she was falsely accused of child abuse. In that case, Mr. King earned an acquittal of all 22 counts against his client and he was later successful in helping her regain custody of her own children. His interview with Larry King about the case can be seen in this video (the interview begins at approximately the 4 minute 20 second mark). He is particularly fond of the courtroom aspect of his job, saying “I love the challenge of finding solutions to complicated problems.”

He is admitted to practice in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Georgia, the Supreme Court of Georgia, the 11thCircuit Court of Appeals and the Georgia Court of Appeals. Scott was an active member of the Florida Historical Society, the History Honor Society and Tau Epsilon Phi fraternity. This was followed by a Juris Doctor degree, also cum laude, from the University of Georgia in 1995.
